Baby Milestone...

Well, I'm not running yet, but I have been faithful to my SouthBeach. Raeanna even just made pancakes for dinner and I passed them up. I lost 4 lbs last week to make it a total of 20lbs!!!!!!!!!! Just thought I'd keep filling y'all in since it will take some of you longer than others to realize my changes. :)
103 days until I'm back in GA and I've got something to prove! I'm ready to be happy with myself!

My house...

Don't read this if you don't want to hear a momentary rant...

I feel like my house may be the death of me! (Yes, I know there's a lot worse things going on in others' lives, this is just my drama and my blog to vent.) Who knew that something I was so proud of, something I loved so much, would be the very thing that is causing me the most stress in my new life. I know this too shall pass, but I really need it to pass quickly because I need to be done with this. Basically, my old roommate moved out at the end of December. (I'll spare all the drama with that bc I could strangle her, but I love her family too much.) She cut the power off to the house before it could be cleaned even though I was explicit about it in the contract. So now, after it's been thoroughly cleaned, there is still a foul smell coming from somewhere. I don't know if it was something that she left in the fridge or if there is a dead animal in my house somewhere or what it is. I thought the whole purpose of using a rental company was so I didn't have to worry about things that went on with my house...guess that's just after they get a renter and start making money! Ok, so maybe they are doing things for me that I don't know about or just not in the time frame I'd like. Thankfully I do have wonderful family that have volunteered to help. My mom even lovingly planted some new flowers in my front beds to add a little curb appeal. Thanks again for that! Then there's the lovely City of Valdosta water department. I had the water temporarily turned on so that the maids could come in and clean the house. I explained that over the phone and the woman (yes I know I should have gotten her name) said it would be no problem to turn the water on and we even discussed when it would be cut off. I got a bill for trash pickup, which I didn't use, and the water is still on. I called and after 3 messages got to talk with a lady who said she'd be happy to check into for me...do you think she's called me back? nope. PS they only waive the trash pickup/new account fee for realtors who have multiple properties. Hmmm. I will say GA Power has been the easiest to deal with! Also, paying for something that I'm not using and have no intentions of ever using again is painful...check that off my list of things I won't ever volunteer to be again. Yes, I'd sell it if I could. It's just that the market is bad in Valdosta and there have been a couple of foreclosures in my neighborhood. Guess it's just gonna be my cross to bear for right now. I'd just sure like to be putting all that money in savings for a place of my own in Nashville when that time comes. But yes, I KNOW how fortunate and blessed I am to have such an amazing, loving, giving cousin that allows me to live in her home. Hopefully I'll be able to look back on this post one day and laugh at myself for ever not trusting in this part of God's plan.

1-24-12 It's not been as hard as I thought to do SouthBeach again. I have missed breads only a little. The main thing I've missed has been my coke. (And yes, I've had a few failure days with that.) Thanks to some help and encouragement from my west coast family, I've done pretty well this week.........
I lost 5lbs!!!!! Bringing my total to 15lbs. Woohoo!
I rewarded myself with a much needed massage :) to finish off my relaxing day off.
Not much else to report about this week. I guess I've been catching up on sleep and working and that was about it until Sunday.

1-29-12 Kelly has a membership to Gold's gym in Hendersonville so we went there in the afternoon. I walked/jogged on the treadmill for 30 mins and did some weights. (It wasn't as hard as I imagined getting back into the gym, but my lungs sure were not too happy with me.)
Afterwards I felt accomplished and energized. I came home to work on my coupon strategies for the week. The Sunday paper in Nashville is a gold mine for coupons.

This was the site of my bed. I was surrounded, sitting Indian style, by coupons, my computer, notepad, and circulars. I sat for 2 hours getting organized. I still had on my socks from the gym and got up to get a snack from downstairs. I fell somehow slipped on the first step and went sliding down about 5 steps. Thankfully I didn't do a roly poly down the entire flight of stairs. No bruises yet, but I'm pretty sore. This will probably put a slight damper on my fitness for the week, but I'm definitely going to stay on track with my eating. That's all about that.

She was born very early and has had some complications because of that. She's in the hospital right now and I'd greatly appreciate prayers for her complete healing. Thanks!

1-23-12 I'm sure you all think all I do is go hear live music, but I promise I do other stuff. This is just such a perk in the city. Someone's always playing somewhere. This was my first night at 12th and Porter and it proved to be just as wonderful as I'd heard. I went to see Natalie Stovall play and an added bonus was Ruth Collins, a Curb Artist, opening the show.

She reminded me of a country Mandy Moore.

Love this girl! She's so stinking talented! We met her at Stacey's bachelorette weekend in Panama City in August 2010. She remembered us which I thought was so cool.

Not too much to post this week. I worked 6 days this week. I went in for a girl who had a Doctor's appt. I got a new regular client and a new request out of working that day so I was pretty pumped. I went to the chiropractor and am feeling pretty great. I found a couple that are Christians who believe in massage and chiropractic together.

I saw this pic on fb and had to copy it. The Nashville skyline in black and white...so pretty!

1-19-12 Heather, Christy, and I went to Suzy Wong's house of yum after work. It's restaurant week in Nashville which means several of the local places have deals. It's obviously a great way to get people to try some of the places that they usually wouldn't go to because of price or whatever. Christy got the three course deal which came with this wonderful dessert. It was like a fried wonton pastry that had a brownie inside of it. I didn't try the brownie, but the shell tasted just like a funnel cake. Delish!

1-17-12 I got the chance to meet one of the nicest and best writers in Nashville, David Lee. Not only that, but he was playing to a room full of musicians, writers, publishers, and song pitchers. Hit songs include "Lucky Man," "Letters From Home," "Roll With It," "Hello World," "I Need You," "19 Somethin,'" and more.

This was also the day I'd weighed myself again and....

I lost 10lbs!!! Now that's some kind of encouragement. I'm sure that won't be typical, but I'll take it. Also amazing since I cheated a little...see above photo. I don't want to say my goal in lbs, but I do want to look fabulous when I go to Valdosta in May for Lindsey Davis' wedding. Prayers still appreciated for my brain to get on the healthy track as well. Hope everyone has a great week!

1-16-12 This was the title of the sermon from Sunday! I never expected to be 30 and single. I never expected to lose my Father at 26 and the emotional toll it would have on my life. I never expected to move to a whole new state and start a brand new life.
The sermon was just what I needed to hear. It was based on Gen 37, 39-40, and 50. You can hear the whole sermon here: full sermon
I decided to do this post in an effort to remind myself and hopefully help someone else.

Pastor David talked about the story of Joseph. He was definitely in a place he didn't expect to be when his brothers sold him into slavery, yet he continued to serve the Lord.
The notes I got from it were
1. Live in the present: Joseph didn't look back at the wounds that had been inflicted on him. This is the day the Lord has made. His mercies are new each day.
2. Beware of bitterness: Heb 12:15 Bitterness can be passed on. We can choose to have a good attitude. Gen 40:6-7
3. Practice the presence of God: Gen 39:9,40:8,41:16 it was about God all the time. God knows where we are. He hasn't forgotten us. We must trust his plan. God is in total control and will accomplish his plan. Rom 8:28, Gen 50 (you meant it for harm, but God meant it for good) For several yrs Joseph prayed for God to deliver him and it wasn't until much later that he was delivered. He still served the Lord while he waited.
4. Be alert to temptation: Be careful to not play the victim-it could lead to you trying to excuse sin.
5. Choose to forgive: Gen 45:3,14-15 God was doing something bigger in the life of Joseph than just his brothers betraying him-it wasn't about that. Let Go & Let God! You don't have control over how others react. You do have control of how you react. Choosing not to forgive is like continuing to slowly poison your life.

Wonder how many new friends I can make in 2012 in my new home of Nashville?? I know there will be lots of firsts here!!! PS~ Whitney Duvall, I think about your heart pillows and when you said you were thankful that your heart could love more than one place. I know that Nashville is my home and I can't wait to see what God has in store for me here in 2012.

Kelly & Nate introduced me to some new friends on 1-2-12. Hannah & Justin Johnson just moved to Hendersonville from North Carolina. Hannah's pregnant with their first baby and it's a girl! We had fun coming up with all kinds of names for the baby girl.

We went to Encore after dinner to check out the view. They are modern high rise condos located in the heart of Nashville. (side bar: if you start noticing a trend of the same jacket or all black clothes on me, just know that I work until 8pm 3 nights a week which leaves no time for changing my outfits. :) I did throw on a bracelet, scarf, and boots with my work black dress.)

1-8-12 I had a great morning at Long Hollow. Pastor David preached on the Dangers of Delay. He even said something that I'd definitely heard before...when God is through with you, you are done. I remember Sam Cathey preaching at a youth camp that we are immortal until God's done with us. My Sunday School class was pretty cool too. We were looking at Adam and Eve and how they started the trend of sin including guilt and blame. I picked up a salad from Zaxby's and headed to see Kelly. We picked up Hannah and went maternity clothes shopping. That WAS interesting, but all in all a fun afternoon.

1-9-12 I went to Christy's to watch the National Championship. I told her my black & white plaid was as close as I could get to houndstooth. She kept her Christmas decor up hoping for one more present tonight. We had a great night with friends and even got Jeremy & Jayce to sing us a few of their songs.

1-11-12 I started off the day by going to see a chiropractor and then heading to my first Bible Study. There's a group at my church doing the Beth Moore study of James. I think God is so cool for a lot of reasons, but I love this...the Bible study is on the same day & time as the one I was going to in Valdosta. The Valdosta group are also doing the same Beth Moore study. AND the video series of Beth's teaching was taped in the chapel of my church in TN! How cool is that? Next week, we will be broken into small groups so stay tuned for updates on that. Afterwards, I went to work and then headed to "The Listening Room" to hear some new buds play a round. L to R Kirk Sauers, Cale Dodds, Todd Tillman, And Jayce Hein The first three are from GA and Todd actually lived in Valdosta for a while. The world just keeps getting smaller & smaller!

1-12-12 This was me driving to work on Thursday afternoon. I was seriously giddy about the snow!

Our first snow that wasn't just flurries. This was my car after work. Don't worry Mom! The roads were fine! I drove extra careful. Apparently, I should've been more worried about my mom than her worried about me since she got rear ended the next morning. Glad she's ok.

First time at The Bluebird Cafe! It's a famous place where songwriters have been discovered & history has been made. I love that I got to meet Richie McDonald, the lead singer of Lonestar. He's been away from the group for awhile, but they are back together now. His voice is still as amazing as it used to be.

He sang this song at the Bluebird and I absolutely loved it!

Jeremy got to sing a song in the round. He sang "Our little town" that he wrote after the devastating tornado that hit AL.

The guys sit in a circle facing each other and take turns playing their original songs.

1-14-12 Another amazing night at The Listening Room

Bigg Vinny Mack from the Biggest Loser current season. He's a singer/songwriter and has a fun loving personality.

He was so encouraging to listen to. His group, Trailer Choir, does a song he wrote called "How are things up there" He wrote it after his Dad passed away. It was all I could do to not do the ugly cry when I heard him describing why & how he wrote it and when I heard it. It's on iTunes so go get it!!! The only YouTube videos are by fans so they aren't good quality. I'm gonna post one anyways. You'll see him in his pre-Biggest Loser state.
Did I mention I miss my Dad terribly? That's all I can say about that.

Motivation!

1-4-12 Can I get some motivation up in here, please??? I know I'll feel better if I exercise and eat right. After all, I get praised like I just rescued a child from a fire every time I lose 10 lbs. I know I'll have more energy and it's the right thing to do and blah blah blah blah blah. I just can't seem to get motivated. It's like I'm stuck in a quicksand of my own doing. I know what it takes to get out of the quicksand and that I'll be happier once I'm out, but my body/mind are willfully choosing to stay in the quicksand! What's that about???
1-12-12 Well, it took 8 days to even decide to publish this post. I have started SouthBeach again and I'm joining the YMCA tomorrow. There I said it. I put it on the internet for my closest and not so closest family and friends to see and hold me accountable.

How I spent New Years Eve... My friend Heather went with me to see the celebration downtown.

Lynyrd Skynyrd was the main music act. I'm guessing that's why the people almost tripled in amount from last year when Phil Vasser was playing. At this point, we had meandered our way out of the main crowd and got into the standby crowd to watch the note drop and fireworks. Loved having the clock countdown.

I love AT&T. I'm stubborn and have been with AT&T since I was 15 when it was US Cellular. When I like something, I like to do it with all that's in me. However, while waiting to use a port a potty (gross) for 30 min!!!! I had no cell reception and happened to be looking directly up at the AT& T building! In my love defense, I never had problems with AT&T when I was in Valdosta. Now, living in Nashville, there is a dead spot in my new house and a dead spot on the road that I live on. Sorry for those of you who have experienced these dropped calls :) I'm still gonna keep AT&T simply because I have the most amazing unlimited, they don't offer this plan anymore, kind of plan.

I spent the day in bed resting. It was the first day of nothing to do since before the Christmas trip! I didn't make any resolutions because most of the time I don't keep them. I'm just praying for discipline in every aspect of my life. My lack of discipline is at the core of every problem I have. Prayers would be appreciated! I pray that you all have a wonderful 2012!!!

Loved going to see my best friend, Brooke, and her kiddos. Rylin wanted to show me all her toys. I can't believe how mature she sounds.

Karsyn is a little ham. She wanted me to tickle her the whole time I was there. Brooke was on the go the whole time trying to potty train Karsyn, doing laundry, helping put together puzzles, and making lunch. I'm so proud of her as a Mommy!

I had lunch with Kasey and Lauren at Baytree Pizza. I'd been craving it since October. lol. Kasey had to rush back to work before I could get a pic so it's just me and Lauren. (and the sunshine in my eyes.) Kasey shared some good news today, but I can't post about it yet. Stay tuned.

I kept her for a couple of hours until Stacey could get home from work. This is what she did most of the time. Stacey cooked me breakfast for supper to fuel me up for the long drive home. (It's getting harder and harder to make that drive. Both coming and going, at about hour 6, I feel like I'm going to lose my mind!)

I had a great, but short trip to Georgia. It's kinda crazy to think that I won't be coming back until May 2012....for a wedding, what else? I'm happy with my life in Nashville and need to start growing my roots. It doesn't mean I don't miss my family and friends. The things you do for friends...So Melanie cut her thumb open on Christmas morning trying to open a toy package. Dr Hogan fixed her up the best he could and scheduled her for surgery with Dr Bearden on Tuesday am. I went to the house at 6:45am to hang out with the boys. I got in the bed with Bay for the first hour while everyone was still sleeping. Then when Mills woke me up, we all went to Ashton's room to watch Kung Fu Panda followed by a group party in their parents bed to watch The Smurfs. I love those boys!!!

Lunch at 306 North with Amanda and Emerson. She fell asleep midway through lunch. It might be just a bit funny where exactly she passed out!

Heather and I took the girls to the movies to see the new Chipmunks movie. I was impressed that Emma stayed awake the whole time and we only had one bathroom break. :) Ella Grace shared her skittles with me! So sweet!!

Tuesday night was all about the Cousins! I love when we can get together. We love each other so much and I'm so thankful to God for that! We started the night at the new Valdosta restaurant, Steel Magnolias. It was very delicious. We ended the night at The Bistro. Great quality time!!!

First on my agenda for Monday...a massage from my sweet friend, Amanda. I was very relaxed afterwards and forgot to take a pic of us so here's one I took for advertising purposes a couple of years ago.

Jenny & I went to lunch at Bleu Cafe. An extra treat was running into Emily Miller and Jenny Miller Taubel. I just wish I had taken their pic too. After a great catch up lunch with gripes and laughs, we went back to Jenny's house to see the kiddos. Charlotte colored me a pic and Vivian couldn't decide between wanting to play with me or playing shy. Ben is growing up so quickly!

A quick visit with Jessica was good to my heart! I can't believe how big their girls are getting!!!

Devin & Karen were in town from Nashville as well. I told him the first night I saw his car at his mom's house..."it's kinda weird that we are literally right around the corner from each other". Our Mom's live in the same neighborhood. After i gave my Mom a tutorial on how to download music on her iPhone, I picked D & K up. We went to do a little window shopping and then decided to go old school and play some pool. There's not much to do in Valdosta on Monday after Christmas after all. Devin's brother, Omar, met us too.

Of course Devin ran the table just like he used to do.

Waking up on Christmas morning at my Mom's house was different. After all, it's something I haven't done in 4 years. I actually went and woke up my mom just like I did as a kid. I went in the kitchen to make hash brown casserole to take to my Grandparent's home and had a moment. My Dad was the cook of the family and all the baking, measuring, and pans were my Dad's. I remembered how he poured his love into cooking for our family on the eve of every Holiday. I miss him so much. Then I pulled myself together and remembered he'd want me to be happy on Christmas!

Santa left something out for my Mom. (I figured she deserved to be able to open one present before we did the big swap tonight. Also, all the pics she had of me, I had blonde hair.) Thanks to Santa for my present as well!

I wanted to go see Rigsby by myself so I could get plenty of love. I'm so thankful for all the ways that God has blessed and protected her. Being born so tiny, now 4lbs 10oz, she's our family's little miracle. I pray for her as often as the Lord brings her to mind and I ask my readers that you pray for her to continue to grow healthy and strong.

Maybe one day I will truly learn that God really does have it all under control! I wanted so badly to be home early on Christmas Eve. I had been given permission to get off an hour early on Christmas Eve which would put me getting into Valdosta around 10pm. Three days before, a coworker text me and asked if I wanted her to pick up my Christmas Eve shift. I started crying with joy. I was so beyond ready to be home and loving on my family and friends. I decided to surprise my mom and not tell her I was coming in early. I got in at 2pm and pulled in behind my mom who was about to drive out of the driveway. She was very surprised and gave me a big hug. The bonus was that my nieces were with her!! They were buckled in the back seat yelling Aunt Heather. Oh bestill my heart!!!

12-15-11 Just thought I'd throw this one in since it's chilly here! I have all these wonderful, cute winter clothes now. While I am very much looking forward to coming home, I'm not looking forward to the probability of sweating in GA for Christmas. I was talking to my friend, Kelly, Sunday night about Christmas in GA. She's from Vidalia so she totally understands. I remember opening the cutest clothes on Christmas morning and changing my entire wardrobe plans for the day. The only problem was that the clothes I got that morning were generally new sweaters or coats and it was almost always warm on the holidays. Of course I wouldn't trade those moments for anything. I just can now sit back and laugh about it. For years, I would suffer and wear my cute, new outfit to show off knowing that I was probably going to heat to death. Yes, we did have an occasional cool Thanksgiving and Christmas, but it was always warm in my Grandparents house. Bless them! When my Grandma goes to take her nap, we turn the air down. She wakes up and in the most precious Mama voice ever says, " Who touched that thermostat?" Oh the memories!

No worries Mom, this has been only used a couple of times. The super cold has gone away for now. I actually think Aunt Clair and Kate's visits from GA brought the "warmer" weather with them. Yesterday's high was 68 today's was 65 with rain and thankfully tomorrow should be back to winter normal with a high of 42! I love the cold!!! What the heck am I gonna wear in Valdosta? lol

I love my little tree. It' bursting at the seems, but I love it. It's half filled with my childhood ornaments and half with ones I've collected over the years. I don't know why I'm such a sentimental person, but I am and I embrace it! Christmas was always such a big deal at my house. My Dad loved to shop for everyone. He worked so many extra security jobs to be able to give us the things that we wanted from "Santa." I'm so thankful that my Mom has carried on the traditions. I'm in love with the lights, parties, memories, family get togethers and the love that the feelings of Christmas inspire deep in my heart! But of course I know what Christmas is really about. I'm so thankful that my Lord was born of a virgin in a manger all so that He could be my Savior! I pray that anyone that reads this will truly KNOW the reason for the season on a personal level.

Day 2-I'm thankful for 2 business partners who I trust completely with Serenity Massage Therapy & my clients. It's been a month since I've been gone, if you haven't made an appt yet, please do it & take care of yourselves! — with Amanda Bennett Hadsock and Lauren Bradford Simpson.

Day 3-I'm thankful I didn't slice off more of my finger than I did when using a mandolin last night. I'd also LIKE to be thankful for it healing super quickly!

Day 4: I am thankful for some wonderful friends to have Thanksgiving with in Nashville. Also, I'm thankful I got the official ok to have off from work for Christmas!! Anyone want to buy me a plane ticket? hehe

Day 5-Thankful for my wonderful cousin Rae Adams for giving me a wonderful place to live and being a great friend! Can't wait to see Wicked at TPAC tonight!

Day 6- I'm thankful for my Mom. She loves me even when I don't deserve it and has been so supportive of my move. She also has showed great strength since the loss of her soulmate.

Day 7-I'm thankful for my Dad! He loved me unconditionally & was my protector.

Day 8-I'm thankful for having a relationship with Jesus and not just being a part of a religion. I'm thankful for the eternal hope I have!

Day 9- I'm so thankful for my job at Escape Day Spa & Salon! I have renewed my love of Massage & gotta to do some really crazy cool things here!

Day 10-I'm thankful that my cousin was born yesterday. Even though Rigsby was really early and only 2lbs 11oz, she's doing great. She's beautiful too!

Day 11- I'm thankful for all the men & women who have served and our serving our country. God Bless!!

Day 12 I'm thankful for my new friends in Nashville! I'm glad to have quality friends for this new stage in my life.

Day 13- I'm thankful for my wonderful new church, Long Hollow! Great message this am and amazing Praise & Worship time!

Day 14- I'm thankful to be going to the Ryman tonight to hear Lady A!!!!!!!!!!! For those of you that really know me, know how excited I am!!

Day 15- I'm thankful to be able to be thankful for the exact place in life that I'm in. Don't get me wrong, I still want all the things I've dreamed of...I'm just happy right now.

Day 16- I'm thankful for the love and support of all my friends in Valdosta!! You are always on my heart!

Day 17- I'm thankful for the women of the Valdosta Junior Service League! Thanks to everyone who stepped up to help in my absence. I know Merry Marketplace is going to be amazing!!!

Day 18-I'm thankful for my brother, sister in law, and my precious nieces Ella Grace & Emma! I love you all so much!!! — with Heather Cox Butler.

Day 21-I'm thankful for the wonderful gift God gave me as a Massage Therapist. My career has come full circle...I've been an employee, owned my own business, and am currently working at an amazing spa & getting to work on celebrities! I've had some of the most amazing & loyal clients in Valdosta, made some wonderful friends as business partners, worked on some babies, and even hopefully helped comfort my friend's dad through his last days fighting cancer. So, I'm thankful for the gift, the ability to help people feel better, and the impact those people have had on my life.

Day 22- I'm thankful for when my friend's Mamas come to town. A couple of weeks ago was Deborah Minton Williams, last week was Sandra Terrell McGlamery, and for Thanksgiving is Peggy G. Fauscett. Any other friends and family members are welcome to come visit. lol

DAY 23-I'm thankful for Facebook and Skype and the ability to keep in touch with friends & family!

Day 24- I'm just thankful! I hope you all treasure this day with your friends and family!

Day 25-I'm thankful for my GPS to navigate my way around this amazing city! I'm also thankful every time I learn my way around without it. (For those of you who actually know me, know that's a big deal.)

Day 26-I'm thankful for God's protection & healing for my friend's Dad. I'm also thankful for the privilege of being able to pray for those I love!

Day 27- I'm thankful for my Grandparents Ruth & Randy Rigsby! They've been a constant source of love & encouragement. Their unwavering faith in the midst of countless trials never ceases to amaze me!

Day 28-I'm thankful for my Aunts & Uncles! They have been so supportive & loving over the years.

Day 29- I'm thankful for my cousins! They have been more like brothers and sisters to me!

Day 30-I'm thankful for having things and people to be thankful for! I'm most thankful for God's plan and provisions for my life!

I was sad to not be able to go home for Thanksgiving. It was the first year I've ever missed a Holiday with my family. I'm thankful that my sweet friends, Nate & Kelly invited me over. I got up early as usual and made deviled eggs, hash brown casserole, and chocolate pie. It was interesting being on the road by myself driving to Hendersonville instead of with my family or the Warrens. Heather started sending me texts with pics. I've included them & her captions in this post bc they were very much apart of my Thanksgiving memory. (And yes, I did have a little tear shed while in the car, but the rest of the day was absolutely wonderful. It's all about being happy where you are in life. Isn't that what you folks have been screaming at me for years? lol)

A Couple of Weeks of FUN...

11-5-11 A foggy morning heading into work...I don't know if you can grasp the full extent with this pic. I could barely see a car length in front of me. Thankfully, it started to clear up just as I was getting on the interstate. Thankful for God's provisions.
It turned out to be a very cool day. A busy day at work, a house call for a celeb, and then Wicked!!!

Raeanna took me to see Wicked at TPAC. The show was incredible. This town consistently amazes me. Yes, I know Wicked plays in lots of other cities. It's just that for so long I've just felt like everyone else has these amazing gifts, and well, they do. I just haven't been able to see mine until now. I know that seems crazy since I clearly had a successful business for 6 years in Valdosta, but I just never felt like my gift was especially crafted for me. I don't even know if I can explain it, but I'll try. I've been able to experience a lot of incredibly talented people. A lot are obviously talented singers and song writers, but there's so much more. I could never live the life of a country/gospel/rock singer or movie star, or a Trauma Surgeon who I admire a lot, but I can live my life and live it well. I can be a great Massage Therapist and help people in that way. It all goes back to something Lysa TerKeurst said in one of her devotionals...you are not equipped for her good or bad. We are only equipped for the good and bad the Lord has specifically designed for our lives. That was a little tangent from me saying I saw Wicked, but there's where my mind went.

I won't ever watch the movie and think of it the same ever again!

11-17-11 I got my hair done for the first time in Nashville. One of the guys at my Spa highlighted & cut it. I was so nervous. My sweet friend, Jan Brasher, has been doing my hair for at least the past 8 years. Rodney did a great job. I loved the cut! I'm sure you'll be able to see the highlights better in future pics.
(I got to work on another celeb at their house tonight.)

I put a lot of work into it from last December up until a few days before I moved in September. I wanted it to succeed, but I wanted to be there to see it! My sweet friends were sending me updates over the weekend filling me in. Plus, I got lots of messages on Facebook from people saying that it wasn't the same without me being there. (It's the little things) Anyways, I went to the show in Nashville and like a crazy person thought...ooh I could help them make this better. lol. I also got hit on by a vendor so the whole experience was interesting!

10-31-11 I got a much needed wonderful massage from my friend/business partner, Amanda. It was great to catch up!

I met Wendy & Rebecca for lunch at Baytree Pizza. PS the spinach dip there is off the chain good. They are so much fun to be around.

Next, it was off to Naylor to get some more snuggle time in. I didn't mention previously that Bailey has hip dysplasia. She has to wear a special brace to keep her little hips in place. Thankfully, Stacey got a bunch of gowns for her so she did have something to wear.

GA on my mind...Day 2

10-30-11 I started out the morning very early! 6:00am to be exact. I was so excited to get back to First Baptist and sing with the Praise team. It felt like I never left. I love the group! I love being able to help lead in worship. I know some people don't appreciate the value of music in a church service, but God has ALWAYS spoken to me through song. Our Pastor, Phil, preached a great sermon that solidified the day.

After church, I headed to see my cousin Lacy, who was on bed rest with her pregnancy. I was so thankful to get to catch up with her & Ray.

Next, was Sunday lunch with the family. I had asked my Aunt Susie if she would make me chicken & dumplings since I wouldn't be able to come home for Thanksgiving. I told her she didn't have to since I knew it was a lot of work. She told me no, but told me the other things she was going to be making. I requested fried okra and she said yes to that. I showed up and guess what was on the stove! I love that woman! Chicken & Dumplings might be my favorite comfort food. (A friend of mine just sent me a recipe for gluten free dumplings. We'll see if I'm brave enough to attempt them.)

I've missed Annyson. She's got so much spunk and is really forming her own personality

I love my Mama! She was so great to me while I stayed with her. She gave up her cozy bed for me even though I told her she didn't have to. She also switched cars with me when I moved because hers was newer and she thought it would be safer for me. Thanks Mom for taking care of me!!

Sam took a little nap on the couch while the girls chatted. Ella Grace decided he needed a little decoration while he slept. She was so proud of her funny trick.

Next it was time to head out to Brian & Stacey's to see them. This was my first moment holding Bailey Brooke Bass...and all was right with the world! Stacey's Aunt & Uncle beat me in the house by a second so I had to wait a bit. I got my little cry out after seeing that precious bundle of joy in person. 10-29-11 The things you do to get home...I got off work at 8:30pm Friday night, grabbed some dinner and went home to catch a quick nap. I finally got to sleep around 11:30pm, woke up at 2:30am and hit the road. It was actually a great drive even so early. Once I got around Macon and the dawn starting breaking I got really tired. It was pretty to see though. A quick breakfast, gas, potty stop and back on the road.
I got into my Mom's at 10:30am. I decided to take a quick nap. The girls were with GiGi and I heard them coming in the door. I pulled my sweater over my face. They came up to me and just stood there. I moved my sweater and yelled boo. Then they piled on top of me. I LOVE THEM!!

I am ALWAYS happy when I'm with them.
I had a lot of babies to see on my trip home. So glad I got a little snuggle time in with Taten Biddle.

First Nashville Predators Game

10-25-11 Raeanna and I went to Smashville to see the Predators play. We ate some gourmet game food from a Food Network booth. The total experience was so interactive and FUN!

A fight almost broke out.
Rinne, the goalie, was stretching before the second half. A week after this game, he signed a 49 million dollar contract for the next 7 years, the highest in the Preds history.

Sadly, the Preds lost this game, but have been on a winning streak ever since this game. Side note...after watching the guys get beat up on the ice, I wondered if they got massage. After all, The Titans get massage so I assumed the Preds should come in too. I went to work the next day. We have a group meeting called huddle at 1:50 every day. It seemed totally appropriate in my head when I blurted out...so, do we have any Predators that come in? There was a pause. I realized what I said. I quickly said...the hockey players. I meant the hockey players. LOL

10-16-11 Nathan, Kelly, Lola Pearl and I had a date at the pumpkin patch after church. It was a beautiful day!

Thankfully we were all laughing about it after it was over.

She and I had just gotten off work, hence why we have on all black. Christy is from Birmingham so she reminds me of all the Southern charm that I love! I'll let her slide that she's a huge Bama fan. They have def been amazing friends to me!
10-22-11 I had a random Saturday off from work so Kelly and I went to do some shopping. I needed some transitional weather clothes. We got pedicures and then ate at the infamous Star Cafe for dinner.

10-23-11 My new friend, Jamie, at church. We met the first week in Sunday School and bonded instantly. Apparently we really have similar taste in clothes. This was the second Sunday. lol

On a similar note, I love my new Sunday School class at Long Hollow. It's a class of young, single, professional women. It's nice to be in a room FULL of Ladies who know exactly what you are going through. We are doing a chronological study of the Bible.

A whole new world...

10-2-11 After the Mom's left, the house was so quiet! I wasn't even sure what to do next. (I guess I got used to having the Boss around ;). Thankfully, The Isaac's had a show in downtown Nashville so I met Malinda, Kelly, and Nate at Cantina Laredo for lunch afterwards. Then they came to see the new house.
Nate said he was helping us move. lol He was so nice to come last week and help hang a shelf and move some boxes before he had to leave out for the weekend.
10-5-11 My first day of work I would call this day...my initiation day! I went in at 12 to meet with the boss and then did massage on my coworkers from 1:30-8. They were supposed to be telling me if there was anything I should do differently as far as the routine things we are supposed to do during each massage. I was happy to meet some of my other coworkers & give them much needed massages. I was just exhausted at the end of the day! When I left Valdosta, I was doing 18-25 massages per week. They were just in the form of 2-3 in the morning and 2-3 in the afternoon with lots of time in between. At the spa, I work Mon 8am-2pm, off Tuesday, Wed-Fri 2pm-8pm, Sat 8am-2pm, and off Sunday. I love the freedom I have before and after work. It's just going to take my body some time to adjust to working 6 hour shifts. :) I do love being booked and not having to worry about scheduling clients. It's crazy how people here don't have any qualms about spending money to take care of themselves. Also, on my 3rd day of work, I was sent to a celebrity's home to do a massage. How cool!!! Then the next day, I got to work on another one in the spa. I'm not star struck...I just think it's so cool that I'm getting to do something I'd never have gotten the chance to do in Valdosta.

So after moving and a new super busy work schedule...my body has been aching! Nothing like taking multiple epsom salt baths. No, I didn't use it for the first suggested use on the bag!
10-7-11 The epic Valdosta vs Lowndes game...I knew I would miss the first part of it on tv because of work so I DVR'd it. The Cats winning in the last minute of the game...priceless!!! So glad they broke the 7 year streak!

A great video I found on fb/youtube after the game! I loved seeing the police car come escorting the team. It was a flash of memories of my Dad. I loved watching the rest and reminiscing about high school. The traditions of VHS will live on forever. I instantly was drawn back to my days there!

10-11-11 Jeffery had a meeting in Goodletsville, TN this week which is about 35 minutes north of Nashville. Allison & I spent the afternoon shopping and met Jeffrey after his meeting for dinner. Center Point Bbq was what he wanted to eat.
I had the best time hanging out with my childhood pal, Allison. Thanks for helping me find some great deals on some black clothes for work. Next time, I'll make sure we take a picture at the beginning of the day instead of the end.

Sweet & Sassy bbq sauce fits me perfectly, don't ya think?

When J said he wanted bbq & that he'd been to this place for lunch, I asked him if they had mac n cheese. This wasn't quite what I was looking for. It was like neon orange!!! I asked the owner what the deal was. He said they use a top quality cheddar cheese that's been made in a powder. Now, I grew up on box Kraft mac n cheese, but this was a bit much. He said if you add too much of the powder, it turns this color. It did taste good, but the color was stopping me from enjoying it at all. J & A made lots of jokes in the car on the way to Sweet CeCe's for dessert. The best one was..."Orange you glad your mac n cheese doesn't look like this?
One of my clients in Valdosta got me this frame. It has a perfect spot in my bathroom. I had to post it because it's so true and it makes me smile every time I see it. It especially makes me giggle about #3 since I love mac & cheese!

Faith...

So after my last post, God broke out His "I'll show you" character. The sermon at my church today was on Faith & the Sunday School lesson was on faith! The Scripture reference was Exodus 3:1-14 and 4:1-4 We had a guest speaker named Tim Miller. Starting tomorrow, you can find the video of the service online at www.longhollow.com He basically started off by getting us to think about situations that we've planned out and they haven't gone the way we thought they would. He also wanted us to think about times when we've had good intentions, but made poor decisions. Moses had good intentions to be used by God, but made a poor decision in killing an Egyptian which changed everything. In these passages, God proves over and over that He is who He says He is and He will have His purpose accomplished. Our sin has been covered by the blood of Christ and it's grace that allows us to press forward. His basic message was Grow in grace, gain more knowledge of Jesus, and apply His truth. (I know this post might not make a whole lot of sense so just go watch the sermon online.) It was really good. He ended by asking us to walk up to a table. The table had Faith spelled out in mustard seeds. We were to take one. The Praise team ended out the service by singing "waiting here for you" by Christy Nockles...one of my favorites!

The seeds were so small that I couldn't even just pick up one. I grabbed two and this is what they look like in the middle of my hand. Matthew 17:20 says "He replied, Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith, as small as a mustard seed, you can say to the mountain, "Move from here to there" and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

Adventures in Moving...

When Uncle Miley pulled up with this Uhaul, the moving suddenly all became very REAL. After months of planning and packing, the big days had arrived. We had some hiccups with the driving of the truck plans, but I had some great friends and family step in to help. Of course it was another test of my patience and anxiety levels which I failed miserably. However, I can look back now and see how God had it all worked out for everyone's benefit. Personal side note: you know, I know I'm supposed to be this super strong Christian that has faith to move mountains. I just wonder if ANY ONE human being ever gets to the point that they are so in sync with the Lord that the hiccups of life don't ever test them?? Yes, I want to be so in line with my Heavenly Father that when a trial comes, I won't stress over it. (After all, I know it's pointless to stress and I know that He is in control & His plans are always better than mine.) I just wonder if that ever fully happens on this earth??

Second side note: I should probably fully write all the details of the move, but I just don't have it in me. lol
Heather sent me this pic via text and said Ella Grace was waiving to me. How sweet is that? I am enjoying being in Nashville. I haven't been sad at all about not being in Valdosta, except when I think about my precious nieces. I know they love me and that makes all the difference in the world.
9-30-11 Raeanna, Aunt Susie, and Aunt Clair at dinner. I'm so thankful that Aunt Clair was here all week to help us get settled. Even though she was THE BOSS (yes I called her that to her face), I now know we would've been in major trouble without her. She got us to get so much done that there wasn't near as much stuff that needed to be done when mom and Aunt Susie got here. That turned out great in that we could really visit with them while they were here.
So thankful my Mom could come help me get settled and see where I'd be living and working.

(PS-if I ever move again...make a list of where you put the important things that you think you put in a special place where you KNOW you'll be able to find them. LOL At least a list will be one thing to help you keep up with all the multiple things you NEED. I had one bag that was filled with stuff that didn't need to be packed, papers for work and birthday cards and such. I went to Steel's before I left and bought a few pre-presents. We went out to dinner for Mom's birthday after I spent the entire day racking my brain about where I put the coveted Steel's bag. Thank goodness I found it before they left. It was in the bin underneath my bed with my purses.)
A war wound of moving! SOOOO moving is not for the faint of heart. In fact, there are only a few reasons I would even remotely think about doing it again! Totally worth all the pain and chaos now, but then...not so much! I have never been so sore!
10-1-11 We took the Ladies to Burger Up. It's actually at the end of our street and a super popular place to eat. The food is amazing!

Aunt Susie has prepared countless Sunday lunches for the family. Some folks in the fam have bigger eyes than their stomachs and have a hard time cleaning their plate. (not that it's a requirement) We hardly ever have dessert, but the "joke" is that if you don't clean your plate, you don't get dessert. This catering company was across from the restaurant and we had to have a picture.
Just when you think you have too much stuff...a new house and a new city says you need a good trip to Target :) The Mama'a helped us hang pics and organize our belongings. I cooked breakfast for dinner for everyone. It was my first time cooking with gas. I was also a little intimidated cooking for the Southern Ladies, but it all turned out well. We chatted a little and then it was off to bed. I was so tired I slept in on Sunday am until right before the Mama's left. Basically, I got up and they hugged me goodbye. I didn't really have time to process them leaving which was a blessing. The visit was too short so I'll be looking forward to the next one!!!

9-13-11 Jenny Cochran and I at 306 North There just aren't enough words to describe how thankful I am to her for her friendship!

9-16-11 My friend Jessica Baltrus took me to dinner at Cheddars. Her husband was watching their girls and one of them got sick so we had to cut dinner short which also meant no photo.
